Being an International Student

Studying abroad is a dream of many students because they can learn many things such as new languages, new cultures, and new knowledge. That is why; most of people think being an international student is very cool. Unlike others think, being an international student is not simple. The more exciting a new life is, the more challenging students face. My friend; for example, came back Vietnam after he had lived in Russia for six months. He came back Vietnam because he could not adjust to a new life. He told me that being an international student is not exciting, but I did not believe him. Finally, I recognized that is the truth after I came to the US. I saw some people leave one by one after they spent a few months for living in the US. Some of them left the US because their parents cannot support for them. Some others left US because they cannot maintain their visa status. In my opinion, being an international student is not easy.

First of all, international students are people who have much more stress than other students. Most of international students have a part-time job because they have to pay three times of native students’ tuition. Therefore, some students work more than two jobs a day. Working at two or three jobs a day just makes students tired, but managing time for working and studying is stressful for students. If students do not have a good schedule for themselves, they will show a decline in studying. As a result, they will get bad grades in class. Grade is one of the most important things of international students because schools base on GPA to reissue new I-20. If students cannot satisfy school’s requirement, they will lose F1 status. Then, school will send them back. In addition, international students have to study harder than a native student does.
