“Conflict is a natural disagreement resulting from individuals or groups that differ in
attitudes, beliefs, values or needs.” The main causes of conflict are past rivalries,
differences in personality, trying to negotiate before the right time or before needed
information is available. Some people want change to happen more quickly than others and
tend to blame others for causing the problems.
Conflict can be positive if it is managed properly. Perhaps healthy conflict can lead to
Development and evolution, new ways of thinking and further management options.
Conflict can be managed effectively if it is understood properly by coming up with an
agreement that meets both the individual's and society's needs which is benificial mutually
and it strengthens the relationship.
Conflicts arise under following situations:
When we ignore others needs or our own needs.
When people apply perceptions and interpret reality differently
when people try to make others change their actions or to gain an unfair advantage.
When one party refuses to accept the fact that the other party holds something as a value
rather than a preference.
Because people ignore their own or others’ feelings and emotions
When feelings and emotions differ over a particular issue.
Dealing With Conflict
