I had an idea to take the brand of kids western shoes nationwide by calling on western stores and offering them one style of shoes at lucrative terms just to test customer response. This was not well received by the other sales staff and sales representatives. I presented the project report to the management and got approval. After three months the brand had presence in 80% of western stores in the country and we had hired new sales representatives in 18 states.

The above is the best situation for this scenario.

At the international relocation firm in New York I had to represent the company ti resolve an unfortunate error where shipments had landed in different countries. The corporate customer was represented by the human resources, the moving company and us were the other two parties at the meeting. The error was on the moving company’s part. But the objective was to diffuse the situation so that the moving company did not lose the corporate customer and we in turn did not lose business referrals. We took the blame for the error citing a technicality and kept achieved the desired results.

At the fashion apparel enterprise we had just set up the warehouse for the company and were expecting to receive the fall collection from the manufacturer. The shipment from overseas got delayed and we had to work long hours for weeks to get all orders out to avoid cancellation. I set the example by coming early to finish the banking and administrative work and then helping in the warehouse after lunch till end of the day.

One of our best workers one day was giving curt answers to customers. I senses the response was appearing to be rude and with an attitude. I pulled the said worker aside and spoke to her telling her that she was one of the best on the team and a role model. I mentioned that it was evident something was amiss and it was showing in her work. She broke down and mentioned all her issues at home.
