INTRODUCTION
United Kingdom immigration is a critical political issue in recent years. During 2006 a record number of almost 600 000 [1]immigrants came to Britain therefore United Kingdom government has started tightening immigration legislation and has introduced a points-based system to attract migrants from outside the EU, which would be the most valuable to the economy. I am going to look at this new immigration policy closer, wondering does this policy is a straight way to stabilize United Kingdom population and improve economic growth. Firstly, I am going to look at earlier United Kingdom immigration policies. Further, I am going to discuss the UK immigration looking from different side of views, trying to find advantages and disadvantages of immigration. Finally, I am going to look attentively at the new immigration policy, it`s laws, in order to find out what the impact this policy may have on the United Kingdom economic and society.
