Cohesiveness

The Gene One Leadership had a lack of sense of cohesiveness in what approach he or she want to use for their company. In their March 5, 2008 meeting with the CEO and the Leadership team, it shows lack of cohesiveness among this group. One of the team members verbal attacks Terri (CTO) about her recognition of receiving the (CTO) Chief Technology Officer of the year. Michelle feels like she was not getting enough recognition for work with the company. Some team members were please with IPO transformational process, while others were hesitant about it. Team members began to form groups and have their meeting to discuss other teams and the future of the company “Cohesiveness is a process whereby a sense of we -ness emerge to transcend and individual differences and motives (Kinick & Kreitner, 2004).

Team viability

In the scenario of Gene One meeting, Don the CEO of Gene One saw the opportunities that each team members to accomplish those goals. He has a better understanding about each responsibilities each team members and to maintain the structure necessary to ensure satisfaction the desire for each team members to contribute in their business success. Namely, team viability, defined as a team member satisfaction and continue willingness to contribute (Kinicki & Kreitner, 2004).

Cognitive Dissonance

In the Gene One scenario, team members Teri and Angela feel that the IPO will mean that new technologies would be motivate only its profit.
