This synergistic relationship occurred from the beginning of humankind, with the invention of simple tools and into modern technologies such as the mobile phones & computers, cars and other modern transport vehicles, television and other entertainment or information media like the radio, and cinema. All these little changes today, like Internet access in mobile phones, are further examples of such synergistic relation. Society's need for being able to call on people and be available everywhere resulted in the research and development of mobile phones. They in turn influenced the way we live our lives. As people rely more and more on mobile phones, additional features were requested. These changes can be caused and determined by societal preferences. An example, before there were Walkmans and CD players, but now, there are MP3 players or IPODs. Since society has always preferred better standards, these changes are started.

“Txt-ing” is now part of the Philippine Society. This acceptance of the technology (the mobile phone) and the socio-cultural change were brought about by the needs and preferences, for practical cost, of the Filipino people. This technology allows Filipinos to remain in contact with friends despite the distance. It solves the Filipinos’ fear of being left out in their respective networks. It enables parents to remain in touch with their children. Txt-ing is only one of those new developments in technology that has made quite an impact in our Society and culture today.
