Six years ago prior to graduation from the University of South Florida (USF) and commissioning in the US Navy, I visited Florida International University (FIU) for the first time for while playing football at USF. My father has always taught me to think for the next step and to further my education. While at FIU, I walked around the campus and spoke to some current students about their experiences at FIU. I was the first to say to my friends, “This is where I want to go for my Masters.” The campus had a “home feeling” and defiantly a feeling of being “a somebody” and not a number like a larger University. Currently I am stationed in Pensacola, FL working with the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Program. I am a Candidate Guidance Officer for the NROTC Program and provide mentoring, coaching, and support to NROTC diversity candidates as they navigate the NROTC scholarship application and selection process until they report to their respective NROTC unit as midshipman. I am now living my dream as an instructor, mentor, and coach molding young candidates to become the Navy’s newest leaders.

I seek an MBA degree from Florida International...
