Task 1

1 Assignment

For dataset of 50:

Identify the variation scope and variation range

Sort the dataset

Determine absolute, relative and cumulative frequency

Draw a histogram (polygon), the absolute frequency.

2 Methodology

For a set [pic] denoted xmin and xmax the smallest and the greatest character respectively. Then the interval [pic] is the variation scope, and the number of [pic] is variation range set. For practical reasons, it is reasonable to hold the dataset, ie order the elements according to increasing values. Furthermore, it appears appropriate to sort the dataset. Sort a dataset of means to divide the variation scope at a finite number of subintervals [pic] called classes, having a common point xi+1, for all neighboring classes[pic], and their union is the variation scope (if necessary for the determination of frequencies should not decide on the jurisdiction of common items such as classes, to make a distribution to the semi-closed intervals). Classes are usually the same length h, [pic]; The number of classes to be chosen as an integer near 1 +3,3 logn [pic] or [pic], or depending on the situation.

The number of fi elements belonging to the set of i-class is an absolute frequency, the number [pic] is a relative frequency, the number [pic] is a cumulative frequency, and the number [pic] cumulative relative...
