Research Hypothesis

Two Sample Hypothesis Testing Paper

Data can be collected from many different sources and can be used for many different things to help people analyze what has happened and may happen in the future. The Autoplex Data Set shows the price that cars where paid for, the age of people buying those cars and if the where imported cars or domestic cars that were purchased. Team C has went over that data and has concluded that the verbal and numerical hypothesis tested will be able to show that the null hypothesis is said to be true compared to the alternative hypothesis. The testing results will be written and raw data tables will provide the support of the findings of Team C.

Step One of the Two Hypotheses Testing Process: State the Research Question and Hypotheses

Research Question

After reviewing the data provided to Team C we have decided that according to the Autoplex data, people between the ages of 30-40, buy more imported vehicles then domestic vehicles and will spend on average $23,000 on those vehicles, does age make a difference when buying imported vehicles rather than a domestic vehicle and what is the average amount of money spent on those vehicles?

Hypothesis

Verbal: Null Hypothesis: The average of people buying a vehicle that is imported is > or = to people buying a domestic vehicle. The average of money spent on imported vehicles is > or = to the money they will spend on domestic vehicles.

Alternate Hypothesis: The percentage of people buying imported vehicles is lower than people buying domestic vehicles and they will spend < they would on a domestic vehicle.

Numerical: Null Hypothesis: The average of people buying a vehicle that is imported is > or = to people buying a domestic vehicle. The average of money spent on imported vehicles is > or = to the money they will spend on domestic vehicles.

Alternate Hypothesis: The percentage of people buying imported vehicles is lower than people buying...
