Who Makes Up the Group?

The group consists of five high school adolescents: Allison, Brian, Claire, John, and Andrew. None of these teens are friends and the only two that associate with each other is Claire and Andrew because they both are “popular”. Allison is labeled as a “basket case” or “freak” because she is quiet and does not speak much. Brian is labeled as a “brain” or “nerd” because he is very smart and excels in all his academics. Claire is prissy and most people label her as a “princess” because she only wants to associate with people of her stature, that is, popular people. John is your typical “bad boy” and course he is labeled as a criminal before he is even given the chance to show people different. Andrew is a jock, who is on the wrestling team and also labeled popular because of his “jock status”. Who these kids are labeled as is not at all who they are though.

What Everyone Has to Offer

Allison has a sense of humor and expressed that she acts alone because her parents ignore her. Being a part of this group, she not only brings her sense of humor, but also her willingness to be honest or to lie to lighten the mood or get the truth out of others. Brian is also not just a smart guy; he is an over-achiever who hates himself and feels suicidal when he is not getting the grades that he wants. Brian is the peacemaker of the group. He wants everyone to get along in see good in each other; he wants everyone to be friends. Claire is not just a “prissy princess”, she is a girl trapped in a life of status and prestige, but she sees the world different. She thinks women should be made honest brides and should only find true love. She is sensitive and she can see the good in the others in the group. John is not just the bad boy criminal that everyone sees him as, but he is also a person who is abused and lost. He sees things as they are and act out based on the way people treat him.
