SMARTPHONE VS LAPTOP

The world of personal computing is changing. Judging from sales figures,laptops have long surpassed desktops as the dominant form of computer. The surge in netbook sales has shown that users are willing to sacrifice performance in the name of portability and price. More important, smartphones are now fully functional computers with a wide variety of applications and services that are rapidly gobbling up users' time and money. With laptops falling in price, premium netbooks rising in cost, and no-contract smartphones, the differences in price are not necessarily that great.

Before you make a purchasing decision, consider what you want to do with your new mobile device. In this guide, I describe several common portable-computing tasks and discuss the pros and cons of the various devices for each.

What is a smartphone?

A smartphone is a mobile phone with advanced capabilities, often with PC-like functionality.

The device has been designed mainly for professionals, small business owners and executives who are looking for a phone that's easy enough for the average user to understand, but powerful enough to get concrete work done anywhere, any time.

Most models come with a full ‘qwerty’ keyboard and large screens. Some are also available in the traditional 12-key keypad, in addition a foldable Bluetooth keyboard could be an option.

What is a laptop?

A laptop, also called a notebook is a personal computer for mobile use .A laptop integrates most of the typical components of a desktop computer including a display, a keyboard, a pointing device and speakers into a single unit. A laptop is powered by mains electricity via an AC adapter, and can be used away from an outlet using a rechargeable battery.
