Introduction

Wireless mobile computing solutions adoption has been of benefit to government institutions and learning institutions among others. This is as a result of higher customer satisfaction and higher productivity. Wireless network is a computer network which is not connected by any cable. This assists business enterprises and organizations to avoid cabling value in a building. The network is implemented by use of radio waves for transmission. This paper will discuss how to handle wireless security in an organization.

Currently, about 150 million organization world wide use wireless technologies. The technology is implemented to make advantages over other competitors and solving business problems. In learning institutions such as universities, wireless technology is widely used. Wireless network is used by lecturers and students to access information over the internet. Mobile phone professionals use the effort to increase production, generate more sales as well as meet the customers better. Wireless networks are more adaptable to configure in an office environment (Negrino and Smith, 2003).

Wireless networks have different components. One of the components is access points. Access point is equivalent to a hub. The component is connected to a wired backbone through Ethernet cable and communicates through an antenna. The unit uses 802.11 modulated techniques (Potter and Fleck , 2002). Its shows availability to the wireless uses. The second component is NIC (Network Interface Cards). The unit scans frequency spectrum availability for connectivity. After connectivity; It then associates wireless clients or access points. The card allows users to connect automatically to a wireless network and allow internet access. These components are connected in different configurations. These configurations include infrastructure, micro cells and independent (Ross, 2008).
