CULT LEADERSHIP

Cult leadership in some way has it relevance and place in contemporary business organization as long as the leader does not cross the line. The cult leadership is so powerful that such leaders can bring an organization to great achievements based on passion and commitment that gained from their people or followers. Though in the documentary, the cult leaders mostly commented of having a narsistic personality disorder due to their bad early experiences during childhood, it has not to be so for the contemporary leaders that is inspired by the cult leaders. However it is at upmost importance that the leader should not let the admiration, loyalty and respect of the followers manipulated to achieve their personal goal or obsession. Also from the documentary, there is a pattern to the cult leaders. Most of the times people who are minority, weak or looking for changes will be the targeted people and later become obedient followers. The cult leaders approach were based on their targeted people or group need and talk into them that they belong as one family with deep understanding. This later gives the leader knowledge and strength in gathering more followers. Eventually the leader begins to be recognized in the social system. It is during this phase the leaders personal agenda comes into the picture and he is no more functioning for the group but makes the group work for him. The danger of coming to this stage is his or her personal agenda or beliefs started to make way and losing the touch with reality.
