1. Choose three companies and observe how employees do their tasks. These can be three different fast-food restaurants or three entirely different types of companies, such as a fast-food restaurant, a department store, or the emergency room of a hospital.

A. The first company that I have observed recently is Pisano’s Italian Bistro in Richmond, IL. Samantha and I ate their last night and their service is phenomenal, almost as great as their food. So after the door man opens the door for you to enter the foyer area you are greeted by the host who ask for your name and what time you reservation is for. At Pisano’s the host is the owner, Phil, and his job is to get you to your seat, make your waiter/waitress aware that she has a new table, and be as friendly as possible because he is the first person you speak to and getting off to a good start with pleasantries is always a plus. When you arrive at your table the bus boy has already brought water and fresh bread, so the only time you will see him is when he is clearing off tables or remove a plate from yours. You will next be welcomes by your waiter/waitress and asked if you would like drinks, while explain the specials for the evening. She then takes your drink order to the bar where the bartender makes the drinks to your specification, then passes them on to the waiter/waitress who brings them to your table. He or she will then take your order; entrée, side, and if you would like a salad as well. He or she will then take your order to the chief who will place it in the order in which it will be prepared, and then begin your food. It is the servers job to check in on the order to see if the chief has finished preparing your meal, once it is complete the server will next bring dinner to the table.
