2. The schedule Dr. Barr set up worked well at the clinic where she was a resident. What are some of the reasons why it might not be working here?

* The schedule isn’t set up based on the clinic busiest time.

* Dr. Barr doesn’t understand how her business operates.

3. Identify some of the reasons why the clinic is having inventory problems.

* Because of its lack of technology use. Dr. Barr should implement an inventory management system to avoid unexpected situations and keep track of inventory.

4. What should Dr. Barr have done differently to avoid some of the problems she is currently experiencing?

* Implement an inventory system to maintain excess or lack of inventory.

* Dr. Barr should analyze the schedule and make changes to make sure she has enough staff.

* Perhaps delegate various task to her employees. For example, the nurse and office assistant can perform various tasks (i.e. track the inventory, etc…) when the clinic is not busy.

* If Dr. Yen can’t work every Saturday, Dr. Barr should hire a contractor who can help her on Saturdays.

5. What suggestions would you make to Dr. Barr now?

* To research different inventory management systems and find the most appropriate for her business.

* Reach out to an IT consultant and get feedback around her business problems.

* Converse with the nurse and office assistant about the problems and aim to find a solution by delegating different task to both the nurse and office assistant.
