Have you ever had a friend who changed the person you used

to be? I have. This friend was the best person I’ve known. When I was in

school, I had a lot of friends. She was not like everyone else. Since

meeting her, my feelings about life have changed a lot. She’s so special to

me. The first time I met her, I was late for the first day of class. By the

time I got to class, everyone else was already there. I felt so

embarrassed. So, I just went to the corner of the class without looking at

anyone. I unintentionally sat next to her. At first, we didn’t say anything

to each other. I was very shy, and I didn’t how to communicate with anyone.

I accidentally dropped my pen under her seat. She picked it up, and said

“Hi” to me. I felt slightly shy when replying to her. We became friends at

that moment. We talked, played, and studied together. I sat next to her for

a short time, but we still talked to each other during break time. She

studied very well. When I didn’t understand a lesson, she would explain

them foe me. She helped me a lot in studying, and gradually we became

closer and closer. I realized that we had a lot in common. We used to go

out when we had free time, which was a great opportunity for us to get to

know each other better. She was a nice person. I rarely shared my feelings

with anyone because I wasn’t an easy-going person. Even when good things or

bad things happened to me, I just kept them in myself. But, with her I was

so comfortable that I could share my emotions with her. When I got in

trouble or a difficult situation, she was the first one to encourage me and

to give me advice. Since I believed that friendship involved “give and

take,” whenever she needed help, it was a pleasure for me to be there for

her. I was in the same school with her for only one year, but we are still

best friends. I was so lucky to have found a friend like her. I want it to

last no matter what happens.
