The purpose of this study is to assess the effects that employee interactions with management have on the employees’ attitudes toward the company. More specifically, it is to assess the effects that employee interaction with management has on employees’ loyalty to their company, trust in the management of their company, and employee confidence in the future of their company.
Hypothesis
The overall hypothesis is that employees who interact with their managers more often have a more positive attitude toward their company than employees who interact with their managers less often.
The specific hypotheses are:
1. Employees who interact with their managers outside of the work environment more often are more loyal to their company than are employees who interact with their managers less often.
2. Employees who interact with their mangers more often are more likely to trust the management of their company than are employees who interact with their management less often.
Importance of the study
If we can establish a guideline for frequency of managerial contact with employees outside of the work environment which creates a more positive perception of the company by the employee and promotes employee loyalty to the company, trust in management, and confidence about the future of the company, then we can establish employee satisfaction resulting and enhance the organization’s culture and reputation as a better company to work for.
Delimitations of the study
It has been established in one study that employees consider being well-informed about what is happening in the organization among the top two most contributing factors in their commitment to the company, which is directly related to employee attitudes.
