HR Planning and Strategic Process

This paper will address human resource planning and its effectiveness on a company’s strategic process. Techniques used to forecast HR needs as well as legal compliance issues will be discussed. HR Departments are an integral part of the every company. “The main functions of the HR Department are recruiting, training, employee development, compensation, benefits, and payroll (Flag, n.d.)”. Human Resources planning is a strategy that companies use to intertwine their strategic plan, goals, and hiring practices. This includes "how many employees need to be hired, what areas they must specialize in, and what kind of training they will receive (Lacoma, 2011)."

Recruiting

Recruiting is a key element of the HR process for any company. Employees are a large part of the success of the corporation. Recruitment and selection processes must be designed to select the best candidate to help the corporation reach their strategic plan objectives. The HR Department needs to be involved from the beginning of the strategic planning process so they understand the needs of the organization. This allows the HR Department to screen and select the best candidate for each specific open position.

HR Processes

Once a qualified candidate is hired, the training begins. Training and development of our employee’s is a benefit for the employee and the company. Each new hire must attend a New Hire Orientation session. This session lays out the corporate goal and mission while providing the employee with a broad understanding of the organizational structure. Employee training and development is explained. This session confirms Jacob’s commitment to hiring and retaining high quality employees.
