1. What are some of the issues to consider when organizing a project team?

When organizing a project team, or even multiple teams, the project manager should consider things such as:

• How to assign the team leader

• Team member assignments: pemanent or floating

• What crieteria to use in assigning team members to teams

• How to balance permament with transient team members

• What kind of training is required

• What physical facilities need to be provided

2. What is the difference between project information and system information?

Project information is that information that is used to schedule, monitor and track the progress of the project. It is related to the project management tasks as identified in Figures 3-3 and 3-4. System information is the output of the work done by the project team members. It consists of things like system requirements and analysis or design models.

3. What is the sequence of steps that will help monitor and control project progress?

• Assign the work

• Collect status

• Check status of task – complete, on schedule

• If not on schedule figure out how bad

• If necessary take corrective action

4. What is the primary objective of systems design?

The primary purpose of systems design is to develop a structure or roadmap that can be used for programming. Systems design takes the requirements that were defined in analysis and organizes them in a way that allows programming to occur.

5. What is the difference between analysis and design? List the activities of the design phase of the SDLC.
