Critical thinking is a skill that has to beandshould be usedon a daily. Critical thinking has three styles everyone should incorporate into his or hereveryday thinking; persuasive, creative, and logic. Logic forces people to consider a conclusion of certain propositions before they ask a question. This goes along with thinking before one speaks. Creative critical thinkers can put ideas together in new or unique ways or create new idea configurations. Using persuasive critical thinking allows one to be more effective with their thoughts and ideas. Persuading an audience is important because there are times in the work environment when peoplewill want something, and try to change a person’s state of mind. People have to determine whether the person is trying to persuade him or herin a positive or negative manner. These three thinking styles are useddaily in peoplespersonal and work environments.
Logical is defined as one being capable of reasoning or uses reason in a way that agrees with accepted principles (Logical, 2011).Logic is the correct reasoning or the study of correct reasoning and its foundations. Logical thinking includes deductive and inductive logic. Deductive thinking has three syllogisms: categorical, hypothetical, and disjunctive. Categorical contains statements that either confirm or deny a subject is a member of a certain class (Kirby & Goodpaster, 2007). Hypothetical syllogism is using the “what- if-then” approach. Disjunctive uses the “either/or” approach. Inductive logic deals with reasoning that begins with a set of evidence or observations, and a conclusion is drawn from that information. Inductive...
