Value Alignment

The industry of electronics and computers has had become the way that people live daily for the last several years. This is one of the most challenging, and competitive industries in the world. Technology has grown so rapidly over the last decade. Dell has stayed ahead of the game, and continues to provide the newest and most updated products on the market. Dell is one of the few companies that has remained successful in this industry and is one of the largest providers to Corporations nationwide. This Corporation has experienced a tremendous growth rate over the last 10 years because they have been one of the most involved corporations when understanding customer needs.

Dell organization’s values are shown on the Corporate Responsibility portion of their webpage. Under the reporting section they have written these words: “We are committed to doing business ethically and with integrity. We will also act transparently and engage our stakeholders on what we’re doing to be better corporate citizens” (Dell Corporation, 2010). Along with these words they have a section for Environment, Giving to Communities, Diversity & Inclusion, Corporate Accountability & Governance, and Human Rights & Social Responsibility. Under each section they explain what and how are they doing as a company to comply and meet those standards and values.

Every organization has values and a set of rules that are the guidance on how to conduct themselves while doing their job. Although the values should stay the same, sometimes the rules will need some adjustments depending on time, culture when working in different countries, and situations. One of the organizations that adjust those rules as necessary is the United States Armed Forces. A perfect example of these changes in rules they call “Rules of Engagement” or “ROE,” where they are different, depending on the country and the situation at time.
