The objective of this project is to get acquainted with the training politics at Servier Latvia, evaluate it and propose changes where we see it necessary in order to improve the training politics in the company.

Introduction

Servier is the leading French independent pharmaceutical company. One of the Servier’s goals is to be a research organization as much as an industry, therefore significant attention and resources (25% of turnover) are given to the research and all products are original products, developed in its own R&D. Servier has been established in 140 countries and 80% of Servier’s sales are achieved internationally1.

Since 1996 the company has Servier Representative office in Latvia, which is one of the Latvian pharmaceutical market’s leaders by turnover (approximately 6 million Euros per year)2. The main part of the product portfolio is for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, but there are also products in diabetes, osteoporosis, and CNS diseases. As stated before, all the products are original (protected by the patent for the beginning) and mainly prescription products.

Currently employment at the Servier Latvia is 34 positions for 7 jobs. The main labor force of the company is devoted to promotion of its products to medical professionals trough regular visits, meetings, advertising and other promotional activities.
