Race And My Community
This paper will discuss race and how it relates to me personally. I will discuss how race and ethnic groups vary from my hometown, my workplace, my community, and finally the media. I plan to discuss the ethnic breakdown and statistics as well as the challenges the different groups face every day.
Demographics
I was born and raised in Southern California. I have lived here my entire life. California's residents come from many different countries and practice many different religions. I think the best thing about living in California is the vast diversity of both racial and ethnic groups. I currently live in a small town called Beaumont. In 33% of households in Riverside County a language other than English is spoken at home as a primary language.
According to (U.S Census Bureau, 2009), 75% of all people age 25 and older currently have a high school diploma. 17% of people age 25 an older currently living in Riverside County have a Bachelors degree. Home ownership in Riverside County is 69% compared to the home ownership of the entire...
