Task 1

Introduction

Performance in the organization is a sort of measurement that evaluates and tells about the way growth is achieved and much more. Performance also has to be managed. Hence, it is considered very important in an organization, as it is a pivotal aspect, which builds up the image, output and over all strength of an undertaking. Performance is mostly related to productional output but it is not confined to that only. But also, it is the output of the other activities or endeavors that matter. This is something, which has to be taken in quantitative as well as qualitative terms, as performance would meet the required standards only when outcomes are also assessed against quantified standards or goals, as the task has to be completed satisfactorily and on continuous basis. Moreover, performance is not just about how many targets are achieved but also includes the path that has been taken to achieve those targets. High performance targets are achieved from appropriate behavior and effectiveness of the required knowledge and skills of applying the same at work. So, manager should take up the function of Performance Management in a way, as how the results are attained because this provides the necessary information to consider what it needs to be done to improve the results.

Performance Management is a system, which is practiced to increase the efficiency, enhance the quality level and consider the immediate competitive advantage of the organization. It assists a company in setting up the standards for rest of the industry, as while its struggle to win the competition it automatically sets standards for the competitors.
