Today is a very exciting day; I get to embark on a journey that is a fascinating part of my life. It has been a very thrilling journey, and finally I arrive at the Infundibulum, which is the outer part of the Fallopian Tube. My technical name I’m called is Ova, but you can just call me Egg. I have been communicating with the germ cell name Sperm who lives within a human male. The sperm and I have been waiting on this journey it seems like forever if everything goes well, and we get to meet. We will either make a male or female embryo that will mature into a baby.

I am just one of the many that live inside this human. Though a lot of me die out with, the big change to the human which is known as Puberty. After this happens only so many survive the change. Out of all my sisters and I who live within the follicle, which are thin capsules within the ovaries, only about 400 of us will reach fulfillment and become a ripened ova (Nevid, Rathus & Fichner-Rathus, 2005).

After I leave my childhood home the ovary, I make my way to the fallopian tube my current dwelling. There I will wait for my friend the sperm to arrive. The journey down the fallopian tube took some time, that’s why ovulation takes place two weeks before your menstruation.
