The Technical Council

Background:

Nowadays, there are many open source applications. To make it possible, it must be special to the others.

Issue:

To make it special, it is necessary to deviate from standard to have better quality application. Also, it needs to adhere to the standard. How to make a standard?

Solution:

To provide better applications, we need to have Technical Council to solve any problems by their collective knowledge and experience. They can give us solutions that still adhere to the standards.

The Technical Council produces the standard methodology and standard architecture. Firstly, the standard methodology is to frequent communication and interaction with users who provide their needs to us. After we got their feedback of the applications, we can meet the needs to make any changes on it.

Secondly, the standard architecture is a set of distributed, loosely-coupled components and services that provide distinct business services. The components include three layers, Presentation, Business, and Persistence layers. The presentation layers are how to present the data to the users through the user interface like a Web browser. Then, the Business layer contains many business rules of the enterprise. The last layer is Persistence layer that use to store all the data that the users need like a database systems.

In addition, the development tools were suggested. The development tools must be used for ease of code sharing and consistency in the code base like XML and Java.

Analysis

The solution of the organization was success because they made a good standard. Communicating and interaction with users make the standard. Then the product is suitable to the users.

Communicating and interaction with users can let us know what the users’ requirement. It is better if we can provide some trial versions of the application to them. Then we ask them about their feeling and any improvement of the trial version to produce next version. The...
