Communication Channels

Scenario I:

As the Marketing manager who has a new beverage to introduce into the market in a week and develop a new strategy for it's arrival I believe I would notify my employee team through Oral (Face to Face) Communication. This channel is to best to me because I need to explain what our task is, how soon it has to be done, and would like to discuss any ideas that someone may have right away. I can kill two birds with one stone in this approach I can inform my team and start the brainstorming process right away since we have a tight deadline. Now once it's time for me to convey my strategy to the Vice President of Operations I would prefer to set up a meeting right away and use the same channel of Oral (Face to Face) Communication. This channel is best in this situation because most Marketing has props or sketches that visual make an impact in person and if things need to be changed we would know right away instead of waiting for an emailed response or written notice.

Scenario II:

As the Manager of a large travel agency who was informed about a computer login being expired from another employee, I believe the best channel of communication to the IS department would be Email Communication. This channel is best because most IS departments have people in the field fixing previous issues or on the phone with possible software vendors. At my current job we have issues like this all the time and we have to issue a "ticket" online where we can describe the issue and provide our email and call back number. Once the issue is fixed we receive a phone call and an email with the correct or reset login name and a temporary password. To inform my employees that the issue is resolved I would use the same channel of communication (Email). Each employee would need their own login name and temporary password that would need to be sent in a confidential way where they can access it.
