Software Project Plan

Boardman Management Group manages the Baderman Island Resort. The resort has three hotels, a convention center, four restaurants, two gift shops, a pro shop, and a spa. Each of the business units at the resort is managed by Boardman Management Group, yet operates independently (Apollo Group, 2005). Boardman management has requested a thorough analysis to provide the details needed to upgrade or replace the word processing software at each business unit with a version that will be compatible with the different operating systems currently in use throughout the Baderman Island Resort campus.

The information technology staff employed by Boardman Management Group is limited where this project is concerned. The IT staff has not received the software application training needed to determine the universal needs of Baderman Island business units managed by Boardman Management Group. Given the limited resources available, Boardman management plans to hire Smith Systems Consulting to analyze Baderman’s options and to prepare an implementation plan for a word processing software upgrade or replacement.

With the expertise and knowledge that Smith Systems Consulting has achieved, Boardman Management Group can use their obtained knowledge and research performed to save Boardman time and money. Smith Systems Consulting can provide the background knowledge to Boardman Management Group that will assist them with the process of implementation and integration of the word processing software. Because of the multiple locations operating independently at the resort and the limited Baderman IT staff, Smith Systems Consulting will analyze each business unit assessing the needs of each. This will provide Boardman the best options for integration of the new software and deliver the most cost-effective solution.
