My Keirsey Temperament personality is a Guardian. Every single characteristic of the Guardian are characteristics that I possess. After reading through the four temperaments, (Guardians, Idealists, Artisans, and Rationals) I could easily pick out that I was a Guardian, although I saw some characteristics of myself in each of the other temperaments also.

One characteristic of a Guardian is how hardworking they are. Since I began working I have always prided myself in my work, not only in my job field, but also as a student. I like to work hard and be acknowledged for that. A good example of how that has played a role in my life recently is my current job. I am the Front Office Manager at the Holiday Inn Express in Durant. In early August, my manager quit his job with little notice. With no one else to step up and claim that job, I took on the responsibilities that he had held while in that position. Unfortunately, in that same week one of our front desk clerks also transferred to a different hotel. With no manager and a lost desk clerk, I took on both responsibilities. This led to me to start working between 70 and 80 hours a week. I am dependable, reliable, and enjoy following the rules, so our corporate office let me keep the position until they could find someone that was actually qualified for the job. I could not have been happier to know that our corporate office trusted me and my work enough to let me run the hotel, especially being as young as I am. I thrived in that atmosphere, knowing that I was needed and appreciated. However, your body can only go so long before you break down. I was more than relieved when they hired a new manager, and I could go back to working the desk.

Another characteristic of a Guardian that I possess is how practical and down to earth I am. Ever since I was young I have been practical. My mom likes to tell the story of when I was four years old and we were at Wal Mart. My dad had a coupon for a free...
