A1. Evaluation of Strategic Direction

Mission- The mission of Prince Edward Island Reserve Co. (PEI Reserve Co.) is providing quality, natural products to customers at a good value.

Vision- PEI Reserve Co.’s vision is to have sustainable growth while maintaining the image they have established in the eyes of the consumer.

Objectives- PEI Reserve Co. wants to exploit its strengths to grow at a rate that their production is able to meet. They want to maintain their image, one of high quality, natural, premium brand, while becoming larger and more marketable.

Type of organizational culture- They are a small company, which operates its manufacturing plant seasonally, as is the nature of its production. They are diversified, as they operate in manufacturing, retail, and restaurants. They do not have a steep chain of command, as there are only five key executives. They are considered a good place to work, with high morale and limited turnover.

Values- The people of PEI Preserve Co. are hard working individuals who care about the quality of the product they produce. They know they are a premium product, but have pride in the products they make.

Leadership style- As PEI Preserve Co. is a relatively small company, the leadership style is very hands on. They have five key execs, two of which are very hands on in day-to-day operations. They are an eager bunch, looking for growth opportunities of which they can take advantage.

Beliefs- They believe that they have the best product around, thus, they make premium products. They feel that their products are inimitable. They work hard to get to the final product.

Way of doing things- At PEI Preserve Co., they work hard for the final product because they believe that they have the best products out there. In doing so, they work as a team in a production process that is labor intensive.
