So many questions, so many concerns, the news is beyond overwhelming. What is the next step? What resources are out there to help loved ones and families with the trauma of this diagnosis? The path of destruction that the disease causes is immeasurable. Families experience the pain of watching an inflicted loved one slip away day-by- day. The individual diagnosed with the incurable disease experiences helplessness and fear of what the future will hold.

This researcher has experienced firsthand the complicated emotions of coping with the heartbreak of this ruthless killer. Therefore, the business conceptualized is both near and dear to the heart of both the author and hopefully touch the hearts of other inflicted families. This essay encompasses the business plan and mission as well as the vision and values that guide the business ensuring customer satisfaction to achieve competitive advantage.

Mission Statement

The mission statement is “the unique purpose that sets a company apart from others of its type” (Pearce II & Robinson, 2009, p. 25). A concise mission statement conveys the organization’s primary objectives to communicate intentions to stakeholders and therefore inspire a common future vision. The mission statement of the proposed business is to empower the individual with the ability to live a fulfilling and active lifestyle in a community that caters only to Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents.
