1. Discrimination

Discrimination from Public- Public perceived women as no business experience, low education level and also no ability

- Even Women themselves also discriminate woman!

- They tend to believed more to men and they feel more secure with men than women.

Discrimination from financial institutions- Banks will not give loan for the high risk businesses such as small business that just commenced.

- They perceived businesses that owned by women are risky and cannot guarantee payback for them

- Too less of successful business women in Malaysia, Banks don’t want to take the risks.

- This has caused financial problems to arise and eventually business that owned by women might close down.

Discrimination from customers

- Customer is the most important factor that affects a business survival.

- Customers do not trust women’s abilities, they will think twice when they dealing business with a woman especially if it involves a large amount of money or a significant project.

- Lack of encouragement to try dealing business with them which caused by the risk adverse minded.

2. Difficulty in balancing between business and family responsibility

- Most of the businesswomen are married, they need to take care both of them

- Have to spend a lot of time for family and cause them to lose time for self- enjoyment and relax. They will become stress and fatigue easily as compared with men. For long term, health problem might be arises due to unhealthy lifestyle.

- Some women choose to concerned more on their businesses; this might cause lack of caring to children.

- When there is lack of communication with spouse, they will lose the love feelings between them. Divorce might be happened as well in the long term.

-However, Some women choose to focus on their family, consequently, they choose to sacrifice and close down the business.
