A Plan for Positive Influence

A fraction of the test central to be successful working with people is the unknown stipulation that is placed on us to disregard ourselves as individuals and perform as a team. Every employee conveys his or her distinctive traits and experiences that are different from their teammates. The teammates might have a general interest, analogous history, or the uneasiness of being positioned within a group to complete an assignment he or she would rather work at without assistance. “Teamwork is the capability to work as one towards a common interest; the knack to guide personal activities towards organizational intentions” (HeartQuotes, 2009).

Learning Team C consists of five individuals that all have varying interests and values.   This week the team came together and discussed each others scores from the three assessments this week, the DISC assessment, the Emotional Intelligence assessment, and the Values and Attitudes Insights assessment. After completing the DISC assessment an acronym for Dominance Influence Steadiness Conscientiousness (Alessandra, 1996-2010), an evaluation categorizes four characteristics of manners by examining an individual's preferences in word associations; the team found that two out of its five members share the same sub style. Mishianand and I are considered Cautious; we are analytical, persistent, systematic people who enjoy problem solving. “We are also considered detail oriented, which makes us more apprehensive with the content than the style” (Alessandra, 1996-2010).  I am more likely to make others feel comfortable around me, I generally speak my mind, and I am accessible to change.
