There are not many companies that are offering biodegradable paper towels for households. Seventh Generation is one of the companies that produced and sells biodegradable paper towels in the United States. Seventh Generation paper towels are made from 100% recycled paper, and at least 50% post-consumer recycled paper. The paper is whitened with-out the use of chemicals containing chlorine, and no dyes or perfumes are added to the paper products. Seventh Generation offers two varieties of paper towel sizes to the consumers. These sizes give a choice to customers in purchases. Seventh generation offers the information on all their products to consumers on their websites. As a promotional offer the company offers coupons to consumers who join their membership service on their website (Seventh Generation n.d. scents, sizes, and ingredients). Safeway food and drug offers a biodegradable paper towel under the brand name Bright Green. This brands paper towels are made from 100% recycled paper as well, but Bright Green uses 80% post-consumer recycled paper. The paper is also whitened using non-chlorine based chemicals. Information on the brand is available to consumers on the company’s website. Promotional offers are not advertised on the Bright Green website. However on the Safeway food and drug website there are occasionally promotional offers for consumers with no needed membership (Safeway, n.d., paper towels). Green Forest is a brand that has a higher minimum post-consumer recycled paper content. This brands paper towel is made from 100% recycled paper, and is whitened using non-chlorine based chemicals as are the other brands. However, this brand uses a minimum on 90% post-consumer recycled paper.
