MCC DANCE ENSEMBLE ESSAY

THE MCC DANCE ENSEMBLE

The MCC dance ensemble performances took place on Dec 2nd and 3rd at 7pm at College Center PAC. I attendted the performance which was held on 2nd dec,2011. It was a fabulous performance by various performers. I had conjunctivitis in both eyes but still could not stop myself from attending the ensemble.After all this was the first american performance that I ever visited. Being an Indian I never visited any american dance performance before the MCC dance ensemble. It was quite difficult for me to clearly watch the performances due to conjunctivitis, but still tried to watch whatever I could. The performances were osum. I also saw Miss Aimee dancing at the end of the performance. There were couple of performances one after the other. While watching these performances, I noticed few major areas. They are:

1) The costumes - The costumes of the performers in these various performances were beautiful. In some of the performances performers were wearing similar costumes to one another, to look alike and add an attractive look to the performance. While in some performances the costumes of the performers differed from one another. This showed the variation in their dance.

2) Coordination of performers - The performers tried really hard to coordinate with each other and make the performance look beautiful to the viewers. They almost succeeded in making this effort. But in a few performances I marked that some of the performers were having difficulty in coordinating with the others.

3) Usage of stage space - The performers used all the available space to them for their performance. But at some point, in some performances, the performers were spread all over the stage doing different moves. This was the time when I got confused. I tried to catch my eye over every performers move, but it was really difficult. I realized that this is something different. From most of the performances that...
