Abstract
Public school vs. home school, which type of education is right for you? This subject brings
heat to debates throughout the world. It touches people with personal experiences, parents, and
teachers point of views. My comparison of public school vs. home school may help parents
decide what the best option for the family. Without Parent Participation the child could not
achieve a level of education. There are two very important things to follow before deciding on
the system of education. First, analyze the child, or children to be educated. Do the child
have special needs? Is the needs physically, socially, emotionally, or socially? Second, analyze
your own situation. If the choice is home school; ask yourself as parent, can you provide the
required needed environment of learning for this child or children? With you choosing public
school; can they provide the required needed environment of learning for a child or children?
With these considerations in mind, I can explain the advantages and disadvantages of each
education system.
There are advantages and disadvantages of both types of education system. As parents, take a
closer look at the different benefits both schooling are offering before making your decision.
Advantages of Public schools are kid’s being exposed to different diversity backgrounds.
Public schools are free. The public school follows state and federal standards with the
curriculum, grading and standardized testing. Kid’s learn with a group setting, and learn how to
become a team player. Children have access to computers, science labs, and sports. Public school
has availability to bus transportation and access to guidance counselors outside the family, and
