Islamic Women History and Today Society

One of the most significant issues facing Muslim women today is how

they can become socially active and have a greater role in private industry and the government. Historically, there have been various Muslim women that have become champions for the social justice, inequality and activism. The role of the Muslim women in Islamic society has traditionally been one of servitude. In keeping with tradition, these women have accepted their role, but they want more. The research conducted on the role of Muslim women in Islamic society will provide insight into the religion, way of life, role of Muslim women and their quest for a greater social role in Islam and decision making.

Muslim women came from different countries, According to (Bochman et al., 1998) at the analysis of how women in Muslim societies have been and are interacting with the many diverse forces that impinge (make an impression) on their lives.

The study of women in Islam investigates the role they play as a woman within the religion Islam. The relationship between women and Islam is defined by both Islamic texts and the history and culture of the Muslim world.

The future of Tradition

Moral conventions demand that the virginity of unmarried women and the fidelity of married women be preserved. Since 1600, when Islam is thought to have been introduces into west Sumatra, the teachers of Islam promoted the fundamental of the faith while accommodating local traditions (Whalley, L.A).

To assess the issue facing women in various countries of Muslim world, how they are coping with challenges such as modernity, inherited custom, and conservative reaction. Urban Minangkabau Muslim women in the 1970-80’s where being send away to get an education and accept jobs. Some families were hesitant to send their young daughters to another state, because they were not married...
