Scientist and practitioners are working together the mend the gaps in the areas of recruiting and selecting workers that can best fill the job. They are training and developing individuals, managing groups and teams, and managing performances. With the industrial field developing and the competition between workers are becoming more difficult and is becoming more difficult for the employers to find the right match for the job. In this essay we are asked to look up three recent articles concerning industrial and organizational psychology. The first article that I would like to discuss is one that talks about the increase in the ethic diversity groups in the workforce. The diversity group’s continues to put a range of practical and policy challenges and opportunities for employers and the government. The minorities make up 10% of the working field.

In 2008 researchers joined together at many different colleges to find out the role and behavior of the ethnic group who they call BAHM. The US Researchers found that the research in this area was looked at twenty years ago and has bean considered dropped. Realizing that only 5.9% of the ethnic group was employed and 6.9% were in the management or higher field. In result the UK occupational psychologist’s have willingly tackle this problem head on. Not only realizing the importance of relations in the work field but improving the experiences, and contributing to the effectiveness of the organization. This need for I.O. psychologist is evidence that it helps inform policies and practices to research different areas just like the ethnic groups and generate input. This is the building block for the employer and the employee.
