Introduction

The person I would like to focus on during this lesson is an employee who is in a leadership position who doesn’t know how to separate his outside personal relationship with those who he is in charge of or who work directly for him. These individuals have stated on several occasions that they respect him or feel that he can lead them because he doesn’t know himself. In most incidents he doesn’t even reprimand his employees for being late to work or not even finishing their assigned task for that day while at work. Outside of work they all hang out together so when he is at work he doesn’t know how to separate is personal relationship with his co-workers form professional relations as their boss. When he does reprimand them after his supervisor gets on him, he always stated that they reason for him doing is because he was order to and he never stand on his own two feet and take responsibility as if he’s in charge. The employees then get made and they start disrespecting him and his position by cursing him out. On several occasions I have mentioned to him that he needs to improve on his job performance and hold all of the employees to the same standards when it comes to their jobs and don’t treat anyone differently because thy are you friend. You have to be able to separate the friendship when you come to work. As leaders we have to set the standards for all to follow and we have to be a strong leader to let them see that we lead from the front and that we are all on the same time and the standards allows to us all, not only a certain few.
