Human Resource Management is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training. Human Resource Management is also a strategic and comprehensive approach to managing people and the workplace culture and environment. Effective HRM enables employees to contribute effectively and productively to the overall company direction and the accomplishment of the organization's goals and objectives. Human Resource is very important in an organization.

In my research entitled “THE EFFECT OF STRATEGIC HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURING MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES IN KENYA: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION”, written by Mrs. Beatrice A. Dimba. In this study, will be able to find out what are the practices, programs and policies to help the organization achieve its objectives and goals in connection of the performance of the employees. Will it bring the employees to sustain and/or improve their work? If the relationship between shrm practices and firm performance is mediated by employee motivation; and to gauge the relationship between motivation and firm performance.

This study generated current knowledge on aspects of mediating influence of motivation on relationship between SHRM practices and performance in Kenya from a sample of six respondents composed of HRM managers, marketing managers, production managers, and three employees from 50 foreign MNCs based in Kenya. The study was carried out between April and August, 2007. Most studies speak of ShrM practices leading directly to performance; but some studies adopting resource-based view perspective are of the view that relationship between SHRM practices and performance is mediated by HR outcomes, specifically, motivation.
