Club IT Part Two

Club IT is well on its way to meeting the goal the owners Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada have made of becoming a community hot spot. Improvements were made to the building, and the music selection improved by including live bands. The owners know is the time to improve the IT department to make their business flow smoothly. Today successful IT implementation can help a business flourish; therefore the goal of intern Kimberly Brewer is to initiate the most successful changes the company will have. Brewer will identify the three major issues the club is currently experiencing and offer resolutions by incorporating customer relationship management (CRP), supply chain management (SCM), and enterprise resource planning (ERP). Using these tools and managing data with user friendly information technologies will enhance the company and minimize time spent gathering information and promoting business.

Brewer interviewed the employees on the flow of the bar; the most common statement made was that when ordering drinks and other menu items, waiters and waitresses share one terminal for producing customer tickets. An order being delayed is the number one major concern. Employees limited to one terminal for placing orders can delay customer service and create non value added activities by the staff. Therefore, it is Brewer’s recommendation that a ordering station by located at each end of the bar, one between booth number one and the wall and another between the dance floor and booth 14. The added stations will minimize the walk time and wait time between a customer’s request for their order and the time the order is placed. These terminals will include HansaWorld ERP system that will directly maintain point-of-sale information and ensure inventory levels.
