Abstract

Patton-Fuller has slowly outgrown its existing business system and is in need of expanding. This paper will explain who uses the system, what the system does, when the system is used, how, and why the system is used? Currently Patton-Fuller will need to update several features Enterprise Resourcing Procedures (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Knowledge Management (KM). The use of Global Networking and how it will benefit Patton-Fuller will also be addressed. By having access to outside insurance companies and medical supplies through a Global network Patton-Fuller will be able to improve its patient care and overall facility. Comparison to other hospital business networks will be shown and how Patton-Fuller may be lacking in those in comparisons, and what Patton-Fuller may have that already benefits Patton-Fuller. Another area in which this paper will evaluate is to show how global networking will benefit Patton-Fuller. The conclusion will help the board deice on which steps to take to improve Patton-Fuller’s business network.

Patton-Fuller Business System

Patton-Fuller Hospital was established in 1975 with the goal of providing the best care to the surrounding community. As the hospital has grown so has its needs and what it needs within its IT department. The system that Patton-Fuller currently uses has sufficed up until now, but with expansion looming the hospital must look at ways to update its current systems and also see what systems they still have in place can work for them.

Current Business System

Currently the hospital has two separate sections that are connected to the same overall portal; the two sections are clinical and administrative.
