The Importance of Respect, Loyalty and Subordinates

RESPECT: Deference to a right, privilege, privileged position, or someone or something considered to have certain rights or privileges; proper acceptance or courtesy; acknowledgment

LOYALTY: the state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligations.

SUBORDINATE: subject to or under the authority of a superior

The following definitions relate to each other in many ways, such as the way you must respect your leaders as subordinates so that your leaders can make swift decisions in the battlefield that may affect the lives of their soldiers. In a world of chaos, their subordinates are relying on their leaders to make the right decision and trusting that those big decisions made is the best out of all the options given. And you must give them respect and loyalty so that they can make these decisions and know that the soldiers under them will execute the task or respond right away with whatever needs to be done. Loyalty and respect also tie into it with the ability to work as a team and not have a hostile work environment. This will allow the leaders appointed over you to give out tasks as a whole and not have to worry about it not getting done or fighting amongst the soldiers that will impede the mission. Before we go deeper into this part, what exactly is loyalty. What does the word actually mean? In my opinion, loyalty is when someone is there for someone, like a supporter, bear true faith and allegiance to the US Constitution, the Army, your unit, and other Soldiers. Be loyal to the nation and its heritage. Loyalty is a two-way street: you should not expect loyalty without being prepared to give it as well. The loyalty of people is a gift they give you when, and only when, you deserve it—when you train them well, treat them fairly, and live by the concepts you talk about.
