Creating and Staffing an It Operations Division

The mission of the Information Technology Operations Division is to meet and/or exceed our customer’s expectations for computer and telecommunications services in terms of quality, timeliness, and responsiveness through cost effective, schedule compliant, reliable, and secure leveraging of IT technology. This includes: operating and maintaining a robust, secure information technology (IT) infrastructure, comprised of all enterprise operational systems assigned by the Chief Information Officer under company IT governance processes; promoting operational excellence through stable, reliable systems hosted on current equipment and systems software products; providing timely delivery of standard IT products and services; providing restoration of service following service interruption; and providing necessary supporting modification and enhancements to accommodate legislative mandate, regulatory change, and evolving system user requirements. The Information Technology Operations department impacts a broad range of key areas including: Policy and Planning, Systems Analysis, Applications Software, Operating Systems, Network Services, Data Management, Internet Operations, Systems Administration, and Customer Support. Success of this department would be accomplished through an identified area of responsibility assignment, utilization of ERP software, and positional descriptions as identified below;

Chief Information Officer (1 assigned): Manager for the implementation of the information technology department. The CIO is Responsible for processes and practices supporting the flow of information within the IT department and the hiring/staffing of each assigned job title functional area.

Policy and planning (2 personnel assigned): This encompasses developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures, and architectures that establish the framework for the management of all IT programs. Functions performed by employees in this...
