IT system that never worked
Issues:
* Lifexpress launched as First to Market, but competition now implementing similar systems with broadened product offering and user-friendly interface
* Lenox’ overall strategy is broken – the organization gets on the bandwagon and introduces whatever products its competitors introduce.
* Senior Management’s lack of understanding on the differences between Lenox and its competition. Leadership is only looking at the $$$ invested and what the competition has accomplished
Problem:
* Lenox invested in the Lifexpress System first, but the competition has created similar systems that are already being used by agents with a full assortment of life and fund products. Lenox’s overall business strategy is not clear and they just get on the bandwagon of the competition
Alternatives:
1. Maintain the Current IT System – The current IT system is good enough and employees just need more training
2. Upgrade the Current IT System – Use the current IT system as the base and find quick and inexpensive ways to make the system more user-friendly and implement more of Lenox’s offerings into the system ASAP
3. Scrap the Current IT System Completely – Since Senior Management hears such positive things about the competitors’ system use theirs. Leadership team needs to understand that Lenox’s size and product offering is far vaster than any of its competition.
Criteria:
* Grow Market Share: Increase the front-line sales agent’s ability to garner sales by closing on more new policies
* Improve productivity: Provide agents with timely access to information in a quick and concise manner
* User-friendly Framework: Lenox’s agents are more experienced in the field, however, are not as computer savvy as the competition. Make the system easy for all users so that Lenox’s more experienced agents can succeed
