Maria has been academically dishonest in many ways. She has cheated and also plagiarism. She has violated the principles of academic integrity. Students often view plagiarism and cheating are the easiest to get of doing hard work. There are serious problems with copying someone else’s work. It’s illegal to take someone else’s work, words, or ideas and use them as your own. However, it’ s usually okay to use something someone else said in your assignment as long as you attribute it to them properly by citation and reference. Maria should have managed her time better. Time management is an essential skill that helps you keep your work under control by doing this it would have eliminate the stress she had. She also should have work smarter by doing things that have the highest priority and then created a schedule that reflects her work and her personal priorities. Students found guilty of academic dishonest will be subject to action and penalties including suspension or expulsion from college. Academic dishonest creates problems for the instructor, cheating causes an underproduction of knowledge, where the professor’s job is to produce knowledge. Cheating also causes emotional stress to faculty members. Academic misconduct can also have an effect on the college reputation. Students who engage in cheating even once are more likely to engage in cheating in the future. When you consider all the work that goes into academic dishonesty, you’ll realize that doing your own work is easier and causes you less stress.
