The effect that innovation has on an organization is momentous. It is important to define first innovation, creativity, design, and the impact it can have on an organization. Innovation is how the companies look for a new ways to improve. “To expect change in innovation cannot be avoided in this changing and competitive world of business, changes will always be necessary to stay competitive” (The World's Most Innovative Companies, 2006). It has been said that there is no definition of innovation because each person has an intuitive sense of innovation. The impact on strategy, process, product, or services within each of the following organizations will be discussed Apple, Toyota, and Proctor and Gamble.

Apple Computer Inc. has been considered the master of innovation and the creative giant, “When launching the iPod consultant Larry Keeley of Doblin Inc. said the Apple used no less than seven types of innovation. “They included networking (a novel agreement among music companies to sell their songs online), business model (songs sold for a buck each online), and branding (how cool are those white ear buds and wires?)” (The World's Most Innovative Companies, 2006).The biggest selling point of the iPod or the Apple accessories is the straightforwardness of the iTunes software. ITunes changed the MP3 player into a money making spectacle. Steve Jobs of Apple, Inc. has been called more of an innovator than an investor because he took other companies ideas and perfected inventions into his own new products. “Today Jobs is celebrated for the iPhone, the iPod, the iPad, and their sleek, seamless design” (abc news , 2011).

Toyota Motor Corp., a Japanese company, has used innovation into the manufacturing process. “But thanks to the hot-selling Prius, Toyota is earning even more respect as a product innovator” (The World's Most Innovative Companies, 2006)....
