The Patton-Fuller Community Hospital is using organizational structure to meet the standard of not only their expectations but also other hospitals with advance. The Patton-Fuller Community Hospital is an organization that is actually dispersed over a small to large geographical area that uses advance information technology and systems that seem to be located in a certain location but in reality they are across a vast area. The hospital uses different types of communication tools such as email and video chats to facilitate the daily operations of the Hospital. Communication tools, conference tools and collaborative management tools are different tools that are important to the hospital’s means of communicating fast, efficient, accurate information throughout the hospital. Communication tools such as e-mail, fax and voicemail can be used to tell the staff of an important meeting, information or scheduling. Conference tools such as data, video and voice conferencing, instant messaging and chat rooms are used when there are meetings and announcement that nearly all must attend. Collaborative management tools such as calendars and project management tools are used to keep the organization running along smoothly. In the following sections I will now examine how certain technology uses the OSI 7 Layer Model transmit throughout the Hospital and how this technology uses the OSI 7 Layer.
