Establishing effective management takes great discipline and understanding of the human dynamic. In many aspects, effective management can viewed as our democratic government system; not to be confused with some of our previous inept leaders, but more inline with having one set voice that details the direction, purpose, and method of how a country (business, in this scenario) will go.

As we have read in our text, there are four primary functions of management; planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. To closely analyze the purpose of each, I’ll be using my company as a example to illustrate each components purpose. I am a payroll specialist for a work for a small payroll company. Although our staff is close to 10 people strong, our cliental is well over 100; many of which have over 100 employees. This small faculty allows for multiple examples of effective and ineffective management. As we read in our text, planning is specifying the goals to be achieved and deciding in advance the appropriate actions needed to achieve those goals. Within our company, or supervisor holds a key position on our board of owners. His primary function is to continue providing services to our current clients while formulating new relationships with new clients. He has demonstrated on many occasions that he has the ability to properly plan for our company. I have seen first hand that many of his opportunities to plan a meeting or schedule potential clients have led to our business expanding.

In regards to my companies methods of organizing, I would state that this is our best attribute that we can offer a potential client. Our text states that organizing is assembling and coordinating the human, financial, physical, informational, and other resources needed to achieve goals.
