How consumer motivation is aroused by a marketer.

➢ Motivation by product design: product design, materials and quality control influences consumer behavior. Most marketers offer a product portfolio that consists of a range of offerings aimed at different consumer preferences. In the market new products are continually being developed while old products are dropped when they lose consumer favor.e.g Introduction of new mobile phone models with more features by Nokia Corporation.

➢ Motivation by place decisions: marketers decide on the manner in which products is made available to consumers for purchase. Consumers are motivated to buy a product when that product is made available in the market or a convenient place. e.g selling news papers near a round about where traffic jams always occur will motivate a motorist to buy the product.

➢ Motivation by personal selling: Marketers use sales persons in order to motivate customers to buy their products. Sales persons provide the means by which actual purchases are made. They play key roles in informing consumers about the options available and helping consumers decide which options best fits their needs, desires and ability to pay. Personal selling frequently involves influence and persuasion.

➢ Motivation by advertising: Advertising is highly influential in terms of impacts on consumer motivation. Marketers create and distribute advertising; each marketer makes his/her own decisions in his/her own best interests. Conversley, consumers react to advertising, usually captures their attention and evokes strong responses. Advertising therefore informs and influence consumers.

➢ Motivation by enhancing perceived risks: Perceived risk represents consumers apprehensions about the consequences of their behavior .Marketers educate consumers about their risks which may motivate them to make more informed choices.

➢ Motivation with price: whether it is a price cut, rebate or coupons, price...
